Projected Media

Kiosks

Projected Multimedia is one of the most cost-effective, under-utilized, high-impact digital retailing tool currently available. Bright XGA (1024 by 768 resolution) projectors are well under $1,500, and SXGA+ resolution DLP projectors (1400 by 1050 resolution) are $3,000 with excellent performance and replacement lamps to keep image quality high. Hide the projector, catch the light with polarized Lucite or waterfall, then motion-detect viewers as they are standing in front of the projected image. The effect would be awesome with the right content. The ideas are endless: project on the floor, project up/inside counters or tables; the ability for impactive creativity is endless. We are hired to create new media content that is projected, and that must be eye-catching, as well as integrated with the signage hardware environment and "triggers" such as motion-detectors and scent release modules.

Virtual Avatars

Mind Taffy Design has created DLP and LCD optimized multimedia product demonstration software for several major projector manufacturers, including Epson and Electrohome (now Christie) in SVGA through SXGA resolutions. We can create transparent and tranlucent presentations, as well as enhanced visuals (produced to the projectors native resolution) that will project significantly better than standard video or flash. We have created multimedia product demonstration software in most of the popular native resolutions including: SVGA, XGA, SXGA, SXGA+, UXGA, WUXGA, QXGA (2048x1536) and QSXGA (2560x2048). One creative use of projected rich media would be projected avatars, such as our Aussie Cowboy shown here. Interface the multimedia to a local motion sensor, hide the projector, and a "BrandGenii" will appear when shoppers are in that area. An in-store avatar could entertain customers, promote specials, educate buyers, lure on-lookers into the store, and reinforce brand identity.
